Three luggage-tag studies for Clearsulting
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world organizations.
An August study.
A coupling secured, an eye opened, and the next step pressed
Clearsulting describes itself as a digital-finance consulting firm creating positive change through collaboration and long-lasting relationships. Its public services span automation and analytics, digital reporting, ERP support, treasury, source-to-pay, controls, and finance modernization, with visible alliance, project, conference, and training activity.
The current mark places two interlocking orange loops above a rounded white wordmark. The live site expands that language through a deep navy-to-cyan field, very large circular arcs, cyan-rimmed images, and small orange circle-and-arrow controls. These independent studies do not reproduce the wordmark, initials, or complete loop symbol. The interlock becomes a working carabiner coupling, the overlap counterform becomes an open eye, and the site’s circular next-step control becomes an elevator button being pressed.
As leather luggage tags, the ideas could be considered for approved project launches, go-lives, workshops, certification cohorts, client or alliance events, conferences, and year-end appreciation. They are concrete before they are conceptual: something clipped securely, a clear view, and the simple action that begins an upward trip. That makes them legible beyond a finance audience while retaining a second reading for project insiders.
Leather and treatment
Deep navy, bright cyan, and natural tan leather carry the site’s energetic contrast without reproducing its logo. Tonal debossing keeps the designs calm enough for consulting travel; antique-brass on tan gives the third tag a small event-ready note.
The three concepts
1. Clipped Together
A climbing carabiner passes securely through one round ring. It reads first as the practical way a tag or keys attach to a bag, while its one-through-another geometry transforms the linked construction of Clearsulting’s current symbol into a load-bearing object.

2. The Clear Eye
A wide-open eye is built from two broad crossing arcs around a round pupil. The ordinary image is clear sight; the almond outline is also the lens-shaped space created where the two loops of the current mark overlap.

3. Going Up
A finger presses a circular elevator button containing a simple upward triangle. The action is instantly familiar, while the circle-and-arrow device is the site’s own small next-step control recast as the beginning of a shared ascent.

These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, adviser, vendor, volunteer, or client occasions. No affiliation, approval, or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual.
