Crui.se OTA Limited × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For Crui.se OTA Limited.

First, the warm-up – we pressed the Crui.se wordmark, dot and all, lengthwise along a trio of luggage tags, from deep navy to pale sea-blue.

Next, the design we built from their promise of finding the one. Eight ships, almost identical – liners mostly, one low river barge among them – and a single ring around the ship that fits. THE ONE.

On the passport covers it travels with the person it was matched to.

Then we gave their dot a job. One wave line calms as it runs, and ends in a single heavy dot – FULL STOP. The point where the searching ends.

On the toiletry bags it rides the lower corner, navy over chestnut – a hull over a teak deck.

And on the golden tan catchall tray, where the day itself comes to a full stop.

And finally, the one we liked the most. The same dot, left empty this time – a dotted course sets out across the journal cover toward a circle nobody has filled in yet, under WHERE TO NEXT. The journal is where that gets decided.
