Dare to Detour × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

A July study.

Dare to Detour is Sheryl Wright's company in Bozeman, Montana – women's retreats and transformative travel since 2017, with real Montana roots down to a dude-ranch specialty week. Her thesis deserves the brass: “take the Detour when life calls for it – within every detour lies a beautiful new beginning.” Her wordmark already hints at the idea; this study takes the hint all the way.

The mark this study proposes is one road: it comes in straight, meets a mountain, bends around it close – and keeps going, arrow first. The turn you almost didn't take, and the view that made it worth it.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
