Three luggage-tag studies for Erica Dana Photography

An August study.
A wish, an open way, and an afternoon held in place
Erica Dana Photography is a Grand Blanc, Michigan portrait practice serving families, high-school seniors, couples, maternity clients, and pet owners. The public experience is warm and natural, built around late-afternoon light, movement, laughter, genuine smiles, and close guidance rather than stiff posing. Current 2026 work continues that emphasis on fleeting stages and calm, memorable sessions.
The visual system uses dusty blush, muted rose-brown, warm ivory, taped instant-photo frames, a narrow panoramic strip of portraits, fine serif type, sparse botanical forms, and a small centered sunburst. These independent studies do not reproduce Erica’s name, initials, founding date, floral emblem, a portrait, a camera, an aperture icon, or a sentimental slogan. Instead, the same construction becomes a dandelion releasing one seed, a garden gate opened toward a low sun, and a blanket corner lifted between two simple weights.
As leather luggage tags, the concepts could be considered for approved senior-graduation keepsakes, next-chapter travel, premium gallery delivery, referral partners, creative collaborators, school or community partners, and studio milestones. Each picture feels complete without a photograph or a person’s likeness, leaving room for the recipient to bring their own memory to it.
Leather and treatment
Dusty rose, warm cream, and natural tan leather carry the site’s gentle warmth into a durable object. Tonal impressions keep the first two versions soft and tactile. The same die in a narrow antique-brass line on tan catches light in a way that recalls late-day portrait work without trying to imitate it.
The three concepts
1. Make a Wish
A bold dandelion seed head holds a sparse ring of stems while one seed drifts free. The small rays at the heart of the public mark become an ordinary roadside wish and a direct image of the fleeting moment portraiture tries to keep.
2. Gate Left Open
Two simple fence sections frame a garden gate swung toward a low sun. The narrow upright rhythm of the site’s portrait strip becomes a welcoming way into golden-hour light and an open next chapter.
3. Blanket and Two Stones
A slightly tilted picnic blanket has one corner lifting and two stones holding the other edge. The taped, off-square picture-frame construction becomes the actual place where an unposed family afternoon can happen.
These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, adviser, vendor, volunteer, or client occasions. No affiliation, approval, or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.
