Three luggage-tag studies for Evaluation Insight

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world organizations.

An August study.

A clean cut, two leaves observed, and a path kept straight

Evaluation Insight describes a focused service for administering and analyzing 360-degree evaluations of leaders and leadership teams. Its public promise is practical: manage the full process, make it easier for participants and facilitators, and preserve the quality needed to turn a complicated exercise into useful work.

The current identity places a clean white diagonal passage through a sky-blue circle, producing two open lens-like fields. Its site pairs a very fine, widely spaced wordmark with heavy uppercase headings, blue pill buttons, and a tree-lined path converging on a centered horizon. These independent studies do not reproduce the circle-and-slash mark, company name, scores, rating scales, targets, charts, or assessment imagery. The diagonal passage becomes a chef’s knife making one clean cut through fruit, the opposing lens fields become two leaves on a twig, and the centered hero perspective becomes a straight path between diminishing trees.

As leather luggage tags, the ideas could be considered for approved facilitators, leadership cohorts, retreat groups, workshop teams, adviser recognition, client milestones, or conference travel. They make no reference to confidential feedback or evaluation results. Each design begins with something an ordinary viewer can name and appreciate: a decisive cut, a small living specimen worth examining, and a clear route toward the horizon.

Leather and treatment

Deep charcoal, clear sky blue, and natural tan preserve the firm light-and-dark contrast of the public system. Tonal impressions suit the fine analytical character of the first two options; antique-brass on tan turns the same precise lines into a warm retreat or milestone gift.

The three concepts

1. One Clean Cut

A diagonal chef’s knife crosses a round stemmed fruit with a deliberate open passage at the cut. The object and action are immediate. The circular ingredient and exact diagonal corridor reinterpret the core construction principle of the public mark without reproducing it.

2. Two Leaves

A diagonal twig carries two opposing lens-shaped leaves and one small terminal bud. It reads simply as careful observation of new growth; the paired leaf fields turn the logo’s divided counterforms into a natural, giftable object.

3. The Straight Path

A footpath narrows between two pairs of round trees toward a centered open horizon. The scene is plain and calm, and its measured perspective grows directly from the strong vanishing point in Evaluation Insight’s current homepage photography.

These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, adviser, vendor, volunteer, educator, or client occasions. No affiliation, approval, or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual.
