Flow Studio × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
An August study.
Flow Studio is Caitlin LeQuire's subscription service, run from Chattanooga, Tennessee under her Cait Agency. Every month it hands MAKE Wellness affiliates a small batch of ready-to-send emails and texts, timed to the promotions already on the calendar; members make each template their own and press send. The promise on her page is plain enough to quote whole: "Sell with confidence. Save your weekends. Show up consistently."
Caitlin says she likes being the person who makes things easier, and the people she has worked with call her an operational heartbeat. What caught our eye is the distance between the wordmark and the job: a script with real flourish, all sweep and overlap, sitting over a service whose whole point is quiet weekly reliability. Flourish over dependability is a lovely thing to press into leather, so we did.
The mark, as found
Two italic words in a high-contrast calligraphic serif. The capital F throws a long flourish out to the left, and the terminal strokes of both words sweep until they cross. On the page it is a dark blue-green, confident even at phone-screen size. It wants to be pressed wide.
Pressed
The wordmark runs long, so the whole tag trio runs lengthwise with it. Deep pine green carries the mark first; in warm light this leather leans toward teal, which makes it the closest thing in our line to the blue-green of the mark itself. Beside it, a pale sea-blue tag picks up the soft mint that brightens her pages, and carries the companion mark from the next section. The black tag takes the gold pass – foil lives only on black, and only here – and the italic flourish in gold is the dressiest moment of the study.
The open line
Flow Studio treats email as an owned space, a direct line to the customer with no algorithm standing in between. So the companion mark is the moment just after the button: one unbroken line leaves an open envelope and climbs into a folded paper plane, rolling through a single loop on the way, with one small word, SENT, set quietly underneath. A plane on its own would read as generic airmail; the loop, drawn with the swelling weight of a pen stroke, is what ties the flight to the flourish in her wordmark.
Hit send, pocket sized
For the small faces we compressed the idea into a lockup: an envelope opening into a rising plane, with FLOW STUDIO in letterspaced capitals beneath. It sits centered on a pair of key fobs, one in deep pine green and one in pale warm greige, the quiet near-white of her template pages. Blind deboss on both.
The same lockup signs the toiletry bags at maker's-mark scale, low in the right corner where a monogram would normally sit. The stack is black over deep espresso brown, her black-and-white layouts translated into leather. On black the unfoiled press reads as a soft shadow relief, which suits a mark about things handled without fuss.
A seal for the saved weekend
The tray is where Friday evening actually lands, keys and rings dropped in one place until Monday. So it takes the largest press of the study, a full seal. Around the ring runs her promise, exactly as she wrote it: sell with confidence, save your weekends, show up consistently. Inside, the paper plane banks through one wide loop, still flying while nobody is at the desk. The tray comes in golden tan, the one leather this piece is made in, and the warm color gives her cooler palette something to rest on.
For everything but email
The journals carry the line we most wanted to hand her members. FOR EVERYTHING BUT EMAIL, stamped generously in the lower right corner of the wrap cover, over a swash that lifts off into one tiny plane. A member's campaign writing is already done; the notebook is for whatever the returned weekend turns out to hold. The duo pairs a black journal with a pale sea-blue one, the two poles of her pages, both blind debossed. If any object in this study earns a permanent place in an affiliate's bag, we think it is this one, though the gold tag will argue.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
