Haven Escape Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Haven Escape Travel plans vacations from Franklin, Tennessee – Caribbean family trips at one end of the book, luxury cruises at the other. Rachel Stovall, Travel Advisor and Agency Owner, describes the work in plain terms: she matches travelers to trips using destination knowledge and suppliers she has vetted herself. The line on her site right now is “The adventure you need, adventures we vetted”, and we admire it for putting the labor where most taglines put the dream. Vetting is unglamorous. It is also the whole job.
Her mark is the reason this study exists. A pale mint globe drawn from continental outlines sits inside a broken circle of route dots, and a small airplane breaks the ring at the top, pointed upper right. The agency name crosses the globe in a dark navy serif. On a white screen the mint runs so pale that the globe nearly vanishes and the navy name is left standing alone, which seems a shame for artwork this considered. A blind press works by depth, so the leather gives the globe back its body. That, more or less, is what we wanted to see.
The mark, as found

Pressed lengthwise
We pressed the full lockup lengthwise on a pale sea-blue that follows the mint of the globe and a deep navy-blue that follows the serif wordmark. Black carries the gold foil, as our third leather always does.

We plan, you pack
The companion die takes her promise at face value. A suitcase sits wrapped by a dashed route strap that ends in a small airplane, set portrait, with WE PLAN YOU PACK running across it. The site delivers that line with two exclamation marks; the die keeps the confidence and drops the punctuation, since brass pressed into leather already speaks at full volume.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
