Hooked Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

A July study.

Hooked Travel is Julie Reichle's agency in Butte, Montana. Her own specialty list runs from cruises and all-inclusives to destination weddings – and then, quietly, fishing. Butte sits in blue-ribbon country: the Big Hole and the Beaverhead are an easy cast away. The brand reached us as plain text, no mark at all.

A name like Hooked, in a town like that, already knows what it wants to be. The mark this study proposes is one continuous line: it rises as two peaks, settles into a river's switchback, and ends curled into a fly hook, barb and all. One cast of the pen, at weights a two-millimetre brass die can hold.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
