Three luggage-tag studies for Knight MacKay Morrow

An August study.
Prepared objects, clearly put together
Knight MacKay Morrow presents itself as a national defense-litigation firm with work spanning insurance, transportation, commercial, construction, product, property, and other complex disputes. Its public language emphasizes seasoned attorneys, established results, client service, and readiness for demanding matters.
The current visual system uses three stacked color fields, widely spaced capitals, fine cyan dividers, and upward-looking architecture separated by narrow bands of sky. These studies deliberately avoid reproducing the emblem or wordmark. Each takes one construction device and gives it an ordinary job: carrying lunch, drying clothes, or making a precise measurement.
As leather luggage tags, the concepts could be considered for a firm retreat, conference, attorney or staff milestone, recruiting occasion, promotion, or carefully controlled recognition of an approved collaborator, expert, vendor, or referral relationship. Any real use would remain subject to the firm's gift, conflict, confidentiality, client, and mark-approval policies.
Leather and treatment
Deep navy, warm tan, and charcoal leather give the set a restrained professional register. Blind impressions integrate the objects into the material, while one fine antique-brass line on the dark tag recalls the site's narrow dividers without recreating its color-block emblem.
The three concepts
1. The Stacked Lunch Tin
A handled three-tier lunch carrier turns the identity's vertical fields into a complete useful object. Latches and a rounded handle make it unmistakably a tin prepared for the day, not a stack of abstract logo bars.
2. Clothesline in the Gap
A shirt, towel, and sock hang from one line between two plain building walls. The scene transforms the firm's narrow architectural counterspace and fine horizontal divider into an ordinary strip of sky where necessary work gets done.
3. The Folding Ruler
A three-part folding rule opens into a crisp zigzag, with visible hinges and simple measurement marks. Its disciplined segments echo the firm's structured fields, while the object itself speaks plainly about preparation and exact work.
