La Vita Luxury Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
La Vita Luxury Travel is a full-service travel company that blends luxury with adventure, building bespoke trips – honeymoons and safaris and so on. Minerva Padilla founded it and has worked in travel since 2014; her own About page calls her a honeymoon specialist and cruise expert, then adds, with disarming candor, wine lover. The banner over the whole operation reads “CRAFTING THE TRAVEL LIFE OF YOUR DREAMS.” La vita is Italian for the life, which sets the bar high, and we keep a soft spot for anyone who puts the word crafting in capitals. Our notes place the studio in San Diego, California, though we hold that loosely; the site prefers to speak of destinations.
The mark is what stopped us. Seven thick octagonal rings, pale peach, nested around a small center octagon with equal white channels between them; the emblem carries geometry alone, and every word of the name lives elsewhere on the page. On a white screen the peach nearly vanishes, and we had to set it on dark ground just to study it properly. That shyness turns out to be a gift. Concentric rings with even channels are about the purest thing a blind press can hold, and an octagon repeated seven times has the patience of a well-planned itinerary.
The mark, as found

Pressed
We pressed the rosette blind on pale blush, which follows the icon’s peach, and on gray-sand, which follows the quiet warm ground of their pages. Black carries the same press in gold foil.

La vita, bottled
Minerva is a cruise expert who loves wine, and those two facts drew the design almost on their own. An ocean liner sails inside a horizontal wine bottle, hull close to the glass, with LA VITA set beneath. We ran this one lengthwise, the way a bottle rests in a cellar.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
