Three luggage-tag studies for Lake Pleasant Elementary

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world organizations.

An August study.

Simple things that hold a school day together

Lake Pleasant Elementary School is a Peoria Unified preschool-through-eighth-grade school and home of the Silverhawks. Its public presentation centers on the phrase Every Student Every Day and brings academics, safety, care, arts, athletics, technology, and family communication into one clear system.

The school mark is a compact maroon path that turns, hooks, and nests inside itself. The website adds five equal action cells, rounded cards with one strong colored edge, and a small statement placed above a larger echo. These independent studies do not reproduce the letters, mascot, seal, or district marks. Instead, they turn those structural habits into three objects that can be understood across a room.

The luggage tags could be considered for approved staff or conference travel, teacher and employee recognition, volunteer appreciation, school milestones, or a carefully bounded PTA-supported occasion. Any real use would remain subject to school, district, procurement, accessibility, gift, and mark-approval rules.

Leather and treatment

Deep maroon, warm tan, and charcoal leather keep the families close to the school's public palette without presenting official merchandise. Tonal debossing is the quiet default; one fine antique-brass line provides a more ceremonial treatment for an approved recognition occasion.

The three concepts

1. Clipped Together

Two oversized paper clips interlock at one shared corner. Their nested paths borrow the turning-and-hooking behavior of the school mark, but the first read is the humble desk object that keeps separate pages working as one.

2. Carabiner and Strap

A rounded carabiner holds one folded webbing strap. The hooked line entering an open counter becomes a practical connection point, an everyday image of support that avoids mascots, slogans, and classroom shorthand.

3. Five Cubbies

Five equal cubbies sit in one orderly row, with a single envelope resting in the center compartment. The arrangement comes from the website's five action cells and turns that digital rhythm into a familiar place where every item has a home.

These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, adviser, vendor, volunteer, or client occasions. No affiliation or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual.
