Luxxe Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Luxxe Travel is a VIP travel concierge on Mercer Island, Washington, booking hotel stays and shaping itineraries for professionals too busy to do either well. Their current line is “Experience Is The New Luxury,” and the wordmark carries that claim with real discipline. Bold geometric capitals spell LUXXE, and the opening L stretches a baseline under the entire word until it closes in a solid period, as if the name were a sentence that settles its own argument. What pulled us in was the doubled X at the center. One X is an unknown; two standing shoulder to shoulder become a mark in their own right, a small crossing of paths in the middle of the name. A mark like that asks to be pressed deep, where the die can hold both the long baseline and that crossing at once.

Country gray gives those black capitals a quiet architectural ground, and a pale sea-blue answers the island water that runs through the practice's own imagery. On black, the mark goes down in gold.
Skywritten
Two jets write the doubled XX in vapor above EXPERIENCE IS THE NEW LUXURY, set small and tracked the way the wordmark sets TRAVEL. Skywriting felt honest for a concierge whose whole trade is the brief and unrepeatable; a contrail holds its shape for a minute and is gone. We doubted the crossed trails would still read as letters at tag scale. The press settled it.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
