Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab × Temple Israel Sisterhood × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab and Temple Israel Sisterhood.

For the warm-up, we put the Memphis Jewish Home & Rehab logo on the luggage tags. Navy answers the Sisterhood's slate and pale sea-blue answers the emblem's aqua; a tag in pale sand stands for the white ground both marks share.

Next, we designed the companion seal: one hand resting in another, IN GOOD HANDS arched beneath. A care home makes that promise every morning, and the Sisterhood's "women joining together" are how such promises get kept.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

On the toiletry bags the seal rides low in the corner, navy over deep brown.

And finally, the one we liked the most. A trunk laid open shows its years as rings, and we left the outermost ring unfinished – still being drawn. STILL GROWING, after the Home's own promise of "a place to grow, not merely grow old."

It looks genuinely beautiful pressed into the golden tan of the catchall tray.

And on the journals, in pale sand and navy, every filled page adds a ring.
