Three luggage-tag studies for OakStone Health and Nutrition
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world organizations.
An August study.
Food to share, steady steps, and one small beginning
OakStone Health and Nutrition is a West Piedmont, Virginia dietitian practice serving individuals, groups, and partner organizations. Its public work covers nutrition counseling, evidence-based education, accountability programs, workshops, meal planning, diabetes, alpha-gal support, and practical habits. The voice is encouraging and grounded: healthier choices should fit real lives and can still include foods people enjoy.
The current identity uses forest and leaf green, deep berry, white, and pale sage. Its circular ecosystem contains simple food and plant outlines around a centered shelter-like figure; the larger site pairs dark-green bands, berry panels, direct uppercase headings, and everyday meal imagery. These independent studies do not reproduce the circular logo, the OakStone name, initials, a human figure, medical marks, a scale, body imagery, pills, outcome claims, or food-policing symbols. The ingredients become an open picnic basket, a path of stepping stones, and an acorn resting in a plain bowl.
As leather luggage tags, the concepts could be considered for approved partner organizations, workshop hosts, conference travel, staff or contractor recognition, referral professionals, community-health collaborators, and year-end thanks. Client privacy and professional boundaries remain central; these are partner-and-team studies, not clinical promises or health incentives.
Leather and treatment
Deep forest green, rich berry, and natural tan leather carry the public palette into a grounded material collection. Deep tonal impressions keep the basket, stream, and bowl tactile. A restrained antique-brass line on tan offers one celebratory treatment without turning any design into a medical or corporate badge.
The three concepts
1. Open Picnic Basket
A plain picnic basket stands open with a single loaf visible inside. The propped lid borrows the peaked enclosure at the center of the public mark, opening that geometry into an everyday scene of food ready to be shared.

2. Stepping Stones
Five rounded stones cross two calm stream lines in an alternating large-small rhythm. The spacing comes from the ring around the identity, while the instant read is a practical way forward made of achievable steps.

3. Acorn in the Bowl
One acorn rests securely inside a wide, simple bowl. Oak growth held by a stable rounded form restates the balance built into the name—something living supported by something steady—without drawing the logo.

These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, adviser, vendor, volunteer, or client occasions. No affiliation, approval, or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual.
