Peninsula Committee Children's Hospital × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

An August study.

For Peninsula Committee Children's Hospital and the Portuguese Bend National Horse Show it has staged since 1958.

Asked to raise a thousand dollars in 1957, twelve Peninsula women came back with four times that, and within a year their horse show had a seahorse wearing a horseshoe. A roundel like that gets pressed exactly as found, on the navy and the warm ribbon red it already owns. The black tag carries it in gold foil, dressed for the Saturday Night Supper.

A clear round is the jumper's perfect trip, every rail left standing. So the emblem earns its ring time – the seahorse over the vertical with daylight under its tail, on the keychains and the kit that travel to the show.

The show rode under the banner "Riding for a Brighter Tomorrow" in 2025, so this die holds the sunrise where a horseshoe holds its luck – open end up. It sits centered in a golden-tan tray where the day's pocket-load lands, and generously in the corner of the journals where next season gets planned.
