Perfect Honeymoons × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

A July study.

Perfect Honeymoons of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina has been doing one thing since 1989: sending newlyweds to the Maldives, Bora Bora, Tahiti and Fiji, ten thousand bespoke journeys and counting. President Jim Augerinos goes by Mr. Honeymoon, and has earned it. Their emblem is a thin gold line drawing – one umbrella, two loungers, water – flanked by ESTD and 1989.

The mark, as found

Pressed

Gray sand for the beach in the emblem, a pale lagoon-blue for the water beyond it, and black – where a gold mark born in 1989 belongs.

The door hanger

Then the second die, for the only sign a honeymoon actually needs: DO NOT DISTURB – honeymoon in progress. Thirty-six years of knowing exactly what newlyweds want, which is to be left alone somewhere beautiful.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
