Privada Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

Privada Travel plans private, experiential journeys worldwide, built on decades of hands-on work in active travel. Carol Austin founded the agency in Montana after more than thirty years in the trade and time in over sixty countries; today it works out of Waterbury, Vermont, where Curtis Fox joined as managing partner in 2024. Even the name was weighed before it was worn. The brand explains that the Spanish privada means “private” or “exclusive,” a promise of intimate, personalized travel beyond the ordinary.
Carol calls the annual Founder’s Trips the heart of the business. Travelers gather over dinner, often with a glass of wine, to remember earlier journeys and dream up the next one. A leather luggage tag lives inside exactly that rhythm of leaving and returning, so the study came easily. And the mark rewards a long look: inside a pale map pin sit rounded topographic contour lines, so the pin carries its own terrain, and PRIVADA runs beside it in widely spaced serif capitals, forest green. A destination marker with the landscape already drawn in. We find that rare, and worth pressing.

Deep forest green follows the dark serif wordmark, and pale gray-sand follows the beige pin with its quiet editorial ground. Black is the automatic third and carries the gold foil. The contour lines run fine for a die; we kept every one of them, because the pin goes empty without its terrain.
The door hanger
Every private room ends at a handle. So we drew a PRIVADA hotel door hanger, portrait, and hooked it over a globe finial – the small sign that guards a traveler’s quiet, resting on the world it came home from. A small joke, and we mean it kindly.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
