Quality Automotive Services × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.
An August study.
For Quality Automotive Services.
For the warm-up, we put the Valvoline Instant Oil Change lockup on the luggage tags – poppy red for the sign field, navy blueberry for the V's other stroke. The black tag carries the mark in gold.

First, the milestone. In 2024 the 1,000th franchise-operated Valvoline location opened its doors, a new three-bay center in Raleigh that QAS opened. We cut a roadside milestone stone with 1000 on its face and the road rising to meet it, ONE IN A THOUSAND beneath, and pressed it on golden tan and pale greige tags. The black tag carries the milestone in gold.
It looks genuinely beautiful.

Next, the fact only an instant oil change can claim: you stay in your car. We drew the whole service from the driver's seat, the wheel in your hands and the hood raised up ahead, with STAY IN YOUR CAR beneath the windshield – and set it on keychains in poppy red and navy blueberry, riding with the keys that never leave the ignition.

Then, the promise. A stopwatch with a quarter of its dial swept solid and the hand just arriving, FIFTEEN MINUTES beneath – the whole visit, start to wave. Pale greige carries it blind. The black fob carries it in gold.

The three-bay center is where the choreography lives – topside and undercar working in sequence while the customer checks the mirror. We drew the storefront with the middle door open and a car nosing out, SINCE 2001 under the ground line, and pressed it small into the corner of the dopp kits, navy blueberry over deep espresso.
Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

QAS puts it plainly: "People, cars and greatness." We set the line under an open palm lifting a small car into a burst of light, and pressed it big into the golden tan catchall tray – the palm that holds your keys at the end of the day.

And finally, the journals. Every car in their world already keeps one – the little reminder sticker in the windshield corner. Ours reads NEXT SERVICE over two blank ruled lines, pressed into the lower corner of navy blueberry and pale greige covers, waiting for whatever gets written down next.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
