Registry Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

A July study.
Registry Travel is the Seattle studio of Maria Regis, founder and travel designer, who came to the trade by an uncommon route. She took a biology degree at the University of Washington in 2013 and then a commission as a United States Navy officer. The next ten years she spent flying helicopters around the world, three of them while living in Japan. She left active duty in 2022 and still flies for the reserves; her biography counts all seven continents and more than sixty countries. The agency she built from that logbook pairs five-star comfort with genuine exploration, and the site puts its promise plainly: “Crafting Journeys, not just itineraries”.
The mark earns the study on its own. It is a wide, pale serif wordmark, REGISTRY and TRAVEL held apart by a small terracotta sprig, and on their site it rests on a field of deep botanical green where the letters glow. Lift it onto white and it all but vanishes. A debossed line reads by shadow, and shadow travels with the leather, which is why a pale mark like this one stamps beautifully. They say elsewhere that a trip should be designed as a legacy; a maker hopes something similar for a die.
The mark, as found
Pressed lengthwise
We pressed the wordmark lengthwise on deep forest green, the shade of their own header, and on honeyed russet, the sprig's terracotta warmed into leather. Black carries it in gold foil.
Rotor Route
The companion design sets a single small helicopter in the upper right, nose lifted and pointed onward, a rounded little cabin with one bold rotor bar above and two plain skids below. Behind it a dashed flight path starts in the lower left corner and swings through a lazy S, one valley and one crest, to end just behind the tail boom, so the route reads as a line still being drawn with the pilot at the pen tip. Along the bottom edge runs a single line of capitals: CRAFTING JOURNEYS. We tried floating the botanical sprig in the sky above the route and took it out again; the tag felt better with the air left open. Pressed lengthwise on the same leathers.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
