River Bank & Trust × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For River Bank & Trust.

The official blue River Bank & Trust mark used for this leather stamping study.

First, for the warm-up, we put the River Bank & Trust logo on the leather journals – a blind deboss on navy and on pale warm greige, the mark's own blue and the white it sits on.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

Next, we took "Service Runs Deep" at its word and drew the instrument that proves it – a river staff gauge, the graduated plank planted in the current to read the water's depth. The waterline crosses near the top, and the whole motto sits below it, one word to a graduation, DEEP at the deepest mark.

The luggage tags wade in by depth – pale sea-blue at the surface and black on the riverbed, with navy holding the middle. The black tag carries the gold.

Then the toiletry bags – navy over deep espresso brown, the gauge pressed small into the corner.

On the keychains the gauge stands the full height of the fob. The gold lives on the black one; navy takes the blind press.

Keychains with the river gauge stamp look just awesome too.

And finally, a second design, cut for the catchall tray alone – the dish by the door where a day's pocket contents come home each evening. We bent the river into a full circle around a small house, a current that returns to where it started, and set CLOSE TO HOME along the water – the distance River Bank & Trust keeps its decisions.

Pressed deep into the golden tan tray.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
