Romantics Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Romantics Travel is a boutique travel agency in Fort Worth, Texas, run by its founders, Kimberly and Jeff Jacoby, who call their own beginning a “Travel Love Story” and plan travel meant to help people “grow, recharge and connect.” Kimberly was born in Japan to a Korean mother and an American military father, and she credits a childhood lived across cultures for the pull that became her work. The team counts, by its own current tally, seventeen countries and more than three hundred resorts visited.
One flowing script line carries the whole name. The capital R opens on a broad loop and the final lowercase l rises into a closed one, and between them the vivid pink of Romantics hands the baseline to the black of Travel at a tall T whose crossbar rides high and long. A press keeps only the drawn line; color goes. We wondered whether the seam between the two words would survive once both were the same shade of shadow. The tall T turns out to mark it plainly, which is the kind of thing you learn by pressing and looking.

Soft blush follows the pink that carries Romantics, and pale gray-sand follows the quiet ground the script lives on. Black takes the same line in gold foil.

Travel Love Story
A love story built on travel has a shape. We drew it as a dashed flight path that curves into an almost-complete heart, with a small airplane banking in to close the last gap above the words TRAVEL LOVE STORY. Portrait, since a luggage tag hangs tall.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
