Runway Travel Co. × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Runway Travel Co. is a Virtuoso member agency out of Springfield, Virginia, founded by Jessica Griscavage, CTA, twenty years into a life in travel and still describing her clients as family. Her biography calls time the most valuable asset and travel the way people connect, through culture and lasting moments. The conviction runs young in that house: her son received his passport at four months old and has since been carried everywhere from Deer Valley to Italy. The books run from destination weddings to ski trips, and the stated craft is matching the right destination to the right person.
The mark is why we pulled the brief. A thin line of charcoal capitals reads RUNWAY TRAVEL, and beneath it a loose aqua hand writes “Tailored Luxury Travel”, the one warm gesture in an otherwise spare identity. An agency named for the strip of ground where flight begins, run by a woman who measures wealth in time, seemed made for a luggage tag.
The mark, as found

Pressed lengthwise
Lengthwise it went, onto pale sea-blue, the nearest leather we keep to that aqua script, and onto pale gray-sand, which carries the airy charcoal-on-white manner of their site. Black takes the gold foil. We wondered whether so casual a handwritten line would survive at tag scale, since loose script often fights a die. Pressed, it kept its slant, though the thin tail of the y sits right at the limit of what brass will hold.

Stitched for takeoff
Stitched for Takeoff turns the runway of their name into thread. One running stitch crosses the field level and true, then eases into a thirty-degree climb; at the top of the climb a single sewing needle rides the same angle, an aircraft rotating at the moment of lift. The final dash of the stitch passes into its eye as thread, so needle and stitched runway read as one continuous line. Above the point, open sky. Beneath the level stretch, sturdy geometric capitals set TAILORED LUXURY TRAVEL plain.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
