Scouted Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

A July study.

Scouted Travel is the luxury travel practice of Renae Kyle Jones, based in Denver and working as an independent affiliate of Cadence, a Virtuoso agency. Renae's passport earned its first stamp when she was three months old. Italy held her for three years of childhood; South Korea followed later, and she keeps the Korean she learned there in working order. More than thirty countries on, her own word for the job remains to “Scout” – new places, sought out with particular clients in mind. A 2026 note on her site adds that the family is living in Mallorca, Spain for a year or two, while the practice keeps Denver as its base.

Before any of it she spent more than a decade in corporate finance, and the mark carries that discipline plainly. A thin rounded frame holds a dense burst of small seed-like dots at the left and a high-contrast serif SCOUTED at the right, with Luxury Travel set small beneath. Black on white, no ornament wasted. An identity that orderly tends to press well, which is what brought it to our bench in July.

The mark, as found

Pressed lengthwise

The mark went lengthwise across pale gray-sand and deep dark espresso, the quiet cream neutral the identity already owns beside the darker classic its black serif seems to invite. Black carries the gold foil.

The Scout's Find

The companion piece is called THE SCOUT'S FIND. A pair of field binoculars sits low in one corner, tilted up toward whatever comes next. Three dashed sight lines fan from the lenses, and where they converge blooms the seed burst quoted from Scouted's own logo – the destination, just found. Along the bottom runs ALWAYS SCOUTING in plain capitals. We wondered at first whether the burst would read as fireworks; pressed into espresso it settles into a place on a map, and the wordplay lands the way her name does. Same three leathers as above.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
