Three luggage-tag studies for SQA Services

A measurement taken, a gate opened, and a record examined
SQA Services presents a global quality organization helping manufacturers manage supplier quality, inspection, engineering, and audit work. Its public material speaks in practical terms about visibility, rapid deployment, technical expertise, and the confidence to move complex components and programs forward.
The current identity uses a compact boxed monogram, dark blue-black and teal, icy cyan accents, and a visual world of rings, ticks, arrows, circuit paths, and sharply organized technology panels. These independent studies do not reproduce the monogram, company name, letters, check marks, or a certification seal. Instead, the monogram’s bars become the jaws of a caliper, its negative space becomes an open inspection gate, and the site’s concentric technology rings become a record on a turntable beneath a careful needle.
As leather luggage tags, the concepts could be considered for approved inspectors, engineers, program teams, supplier partners, training cohorts, milestone deployments, conference groups, or long-service recognition. Each starts with an ordinary object and a useful action: measure precisely, let sound work pass, and examine the record closely.
Leather and treatment
Deep blue-black, icy cyan-blue, and natural tan leather retain the crisp technical contrast of SQA’s public system. Deep tonal debossing suits the precision of the first two dies; antique-brass on tan makes the third feel like a durable tool rather than a promotional badge.
The three concepts
1. Caliper on a Hex Nut
A simple caliper closes around a hex nut. The first read is unmistakably measurement and fit; the long jaws and short repeated scale marks transform the boxed monogram’s vertical and horizontal bars into a working inspection instrument.
2. The Open Gate
A slatted quality gate stands partway open between two posts. It immediately suggests inspection completed and passage earned, while the narrow repeating bars and surrounding frame grow from the same geometric grammar as SQA’s compact mark.
3. Needle on the Record
A turntable needle rests over a record with two clean concentric grooves. It reads as listening closely to what has been captured; the circles and precise angled arm reinterpret the rings, pointers, and diagnostic motion across the current site.
These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, adviser, vendor, volunteer, educator, or client occasions. No affiliation, approval, or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.
