Swampscott High School × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world logos.

An August study.

For Swampscott High School.

For the warm-up, we put the Swampscott High School logo on the luggage tags – navy and pale sea-blue for the water it faces, sand for the shore where the water lands.

Next, we took "Navigating Paths to Success" at its word and set it around a compass. The needle that finds north is a pen nib – here, writing is how you get where you are going.

It looks genuinely beautiful.

On keychains in the school's two blues, navy and pale sea-blue.

The same compass rides the toiletry bags, navy over warm brown, and the golden tan catchall tray.

And finally, the one for the English rooms. An open book, and a swell rising out of it that crests like a wave – a poem is written in the quiet first, then said out loud.

On journals in navy and sand – ink and page. Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
