TBN Travel Curators × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

A July study.

TBN Travel Curators is Nicole Shipper's Virtuoso studio in Fairfield, Connecticut – luxury adventure travel "for the modern globe-trotter," grown out of the shop she once ran as Trips by Nic. Her mark is a single eight-point star, half compass and half sparkle, in deep espresso. And her site says the six words we couldn't leave alone: the world is your oyster.

The mark, as found

Pressed

Dark espresso first – her mark's own color – then caramel for the globe-trotter's luggage tan, and black for the gold pass.

The world is your oyster

Then the second die, for her own promise: an open oyster with a pearl that turned out to be a planet. For clients who take the line literally, which is the correct way to take it.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
