The Travel Byrds × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

A July study.

The Travel Byrds call themselves “A Novel Travel Agency,” and the name is the founder's own: Byrd Bergeron, CEO, planning honeymoons and family adventures out of Cincinnati under her own first name. Their logo is a friendly little songbird – dot eye, upswept tail, an actual smile – perched on a wordmark built like a stack of luggage. Their tagline is the best brief we've ever been handed: collect great stories.

The mark, as found

Pressed

Navy blueberry for their night-sky ground, country gray for the cool slate they accent with, and black for the gold pass.

The story collector

Then the second die: a vintage suitcase with the byrd perched on its handle, ready to board. Underneath, their own instruction – collect great stories.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
