Travel Squad Vacations × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Travel Squad Vacations is a boutique agency of eight advisors in Dade City, Florida, co-founded by Sarah Riley and Melissa Eck. Their team page says it in two sentences. “Eight advisors. One shared belief: travel is better when someone who’s actually been there is in your corner.” Sarah has planned professionally since 2021, and she brings a celiac family’s firsthand experience to gluten-free and dairy-free travel, the kind of knowledge earned at your own dinner table long before it reaches a client’s itinerary.
The mark earned the study on its own terms. TRAVEL SQUAD sits in bold black capitals, and Vacations runs beneath it in gold script that ends in a long flourish; the letters do all the work, with no icon anywhere. Two typographic voices in one wordmark struck us as the agency in miniature, the firm hand that books the flight beside the warm one that stays steady when a trip goes sideways.
The mark, as found

Pressed lengthwise
Indian-summer, a honeyed tan, answers the warm gold of the Vacations script, while a pale sea-blue borrows from the Mediterranean water their site keeps beside the wordmark. Black with gold foil makes the third. We did wonder whether that long script tail would survive at tag width, since a hairline can blur where a bold capital bites clean; it held, though we would deepen the relief a touch before cutting a real die.

“Travel Better Together”
Eight advisors, so eight airplanes. They fly a broad V above their own line, “Travel Better Together,” set portrait so the formation climbs the tag. Migrating birds fly the V because the bird ahead breaks the air for the bird behind, which felt like a fair picture of an agency where somebody has already been where you are going.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
