Travel Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

A July study.
Travel Travel is an owner-operated travel agency out of Fargo, North Dakota, working under the Travel Leaders umbrella while keeping its own doubled name over the door. Their site makes a plain promise: “Read our blog posts about firsthand experiences at amazing destinations around the globe. Learn valuable travel tips that can enhance your journey. Then contact our travel professionals to turn these articles and your dreams into reality.” We admire the order of operations there – first the firsthand account, then a human being who books the dream. And we grinned at a small confession in the page source, where the theme dressing the whole site is named le-tropical, which strikes us as exactly the right thing to have running on a screen in Fargo in January.
The logo they fly under is a black swoosh monogram with a small airplane tucked into the curve, set beside a solid Travel Travel wordmark. A name said twice is a gift to anyone who presses letters into leather; the repetition gives the die a rhythm before a single tool is warmed. That doubling, and the little plane hiding inside the mark, asked for a study.

Blueberry follows the deep navy running through their travel imagery, and gray-sand picks up the pale editorial ground of their pages. Black is the automatic third and carries the gold foil.
Round Trip
The companion design, ROUND TRIP, turns the doubled name into an itinerary. One wide loop of bold dashes circles the tag lengthwise, a small plane riding the top arc with its nose pointed out and an identical plane riding the bottom arc pointed home, so the pair circulates clockwise around one continuous circuit. TRAVEL sits above the loop and TRAVEL sits again below it, one word for each leg. Our first sketch had both planes flying the same direction, which read as a chase; sending one out and one back made it a trip.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
