TravelChic World × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
TravelChic World is April’s travel agency, and she tells its founding plainly on her own page: “I founded TravelChic World in Honolulu back in 2018.” The client list has since grown far beyond the islands, and April herself now splits her time between Hawai’i and Arizona. She plans girls’ getaways and journeys that hold three generations at once, and as a mother of teenagers she says she wants to raise the next generation of travelers. She volunteers locally too, with the Girl Scouts and with Komen Hawai’i among others. A practice that generous deserved a careful pressing.
Her badge asked for this study almost on its own. It is already a stamp in spirit, a tan circle with the name curved in white around a small teal airplane, flight lines streaming behind it. Circles and curved lettering are what leather stamping was practically invented for, so we wanted to see how the badge would sit once heat and brass took the color away and left only relief.

Pressed
We pressed the badge on soft blush and pale sea-blue, the pair the site’s own palette handed us. Black carries the gold foil, as black always does in this series.
Split my time
April’s about page holds one line we could see as a picture before we finished reading it: she splits her time between Hawai’i and Arizona. The companion tag, pressed lengthwise on the same leathers, draws exactly that. A coconut palm leans at the left edge and a saguaro stands at the right, its left arm raised above the other; one dashed arc springs from the palm’s crown and lands on the cactus’s taller arm, with a small plane riding the arc just past the apex, nose dipping toward the desert. We kept the palm the taller of the two, since the story starts in Honolulu. SPLIT MY TIME runs along the bottom in plain capitals. Whether the plane belonged at the apex or just past it took us longer than we care to admit; just past it won, for now.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
