Tribù Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Tribù Travel is Marni Granston's design studio in Solana Beach, California – luxury private journeys and bespoke safaris, named with the Italian word for tribe, because her travelers go out as friends and family in small groups. Her wordmark is monastic in its restraint: five thin letterspaced capitals, and one heavy grave accent over the U carrying the whole brand on its shoulder.
The mark, as found

Pressed lengthwise
Sicilian brown for the safari leather her world runs on – and a quiet nod to the Italian in her name – navy blueberry for the Pacific outside her studio, and black for the gold pass.

The gathering tree
Then the second die, for where a safari tribe actually gathers: one acacia, flat-topped against the dusk, and eight small souls arced in its shade. Everyone around the same fire.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
