Trippin' Adventures × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Trippin' Adventures is a travel agency, and its homepage opens with a question we found hard to leave alone: “Where Do Legendary Adventures Begin?” Allen Steele is the advisor named on the site, the person who turns that question into itineraries. Our own records place the agency in Purvis, Mississippi, though the site is quieter about geography than about departure, so we hold that address lightly. The badge drew us in, a navy circle built like a ship's wheel with TRIPPIN' ADVENTURES set in capitals around the rim. A round mark with lettering on its circumference is the classic shape for a stamp, and has been since signet rings. We wanted to see how deep those rim letters would sit in leather.

Blueberry follows the navy of the badge, turquoise the open-water blues that run through their travel imagery. Black carries the gold foil.
Begin here
Their homepage asks where legendary adventures begin, and a luggage tag hangs at one honest answer. So we drew it. A single map pin stands at the lower left with its point on the tag's edge, and BEGIN HERE runs beside it in plain capitals along the baseline. From the pin's head a chunky dashed route sets out. It makes one wide loop at mid-tag, then runs off the top-right corner under a solid arrowhead, the journey already leaving. The dashes are thick and widely spaced so that each one presses as a clean small cut.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
