Three luggage-tag studies for TuneIn
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world organizations.
An August study.
A signal caught, a window opened, and the station that matters
TuneIn brings together live sports, music, news, audiobooks, podcasts, and radio across home, car, mobile, and connected devices. Its current public promise is to hear what matters most, wherever the listener happens to be. Active 2026 partnership announcements continue that many-sources, many-places story.
The current visual system uses bright cyan, deep navy, white cards, stepped rectangular blocks, compact audio tiles, and one shape moving from outside to inside. TuneIn has also developed a sonic identity, making a tactile translation of listening especially appropriate. These independent studies do not reproduce the TUNE/IN wordmark, its exact two-box logo, a partner or station mark, a league identity, or a copied sonic waveform. They also avoid the usual microphone, equalizer, music-note, and headphones-around-a-globe clichés. The construction instead becomes a stepped pocket radio, an open window admitting three sound arcs, and a tuning dial settling on one mark.
As leather luggage tags, the ideas could be considered for approved distribution and content partners, deal teams, launch teams, executive offsites, broadcaster or creator meetings, travel events, and year-end strategic-partner gifts. Each picture can be named in a second: radio, window, dial. The quieter second read belongs to the business of bringing many signals into one useful listening place.
Leather and treatment
Electric cyan-blue, deep navy, and natural tan leather give the set a recognizably energetic register without copying the logo. Tonal impressions make the first two versions feel built into the object; a restrained antique-brass line on tan offers one launch or partnership treatment while retaining exactly the same die.
The three concepts
1. Pocket Radio Step
A small transistor radio is built from two offset rounded blocks, with three grille slats, a tuning knob, and an antenna catching two signal arcs. The stepped body quietly carries the current visual grammar into the ordinary object TuneIn helps replace and extend.

2. Sound Through the Window
A raised sash leaves one clear opening while three sound arcs move into the room. Nested frames borrow the site’s card-within-frame construction, but the first read is simply an open window letting the world be heard.

3. Finding the Station
A round tuning knob has just landed on one longer tick among seven choices. The many evenly spaced marks become many sources; the single aligned needle is the personal act of tuning in to the one that matters now.

These are independent design studies for appropriate team, partner, collaborator, adviser, vendor, volunteer, or client occasions. No affiliation, approval, or endorsement is implied. Every image is a render used to test the object before cutting a physical die.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual.
