Two Chicks Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

Two Chicks Travel is the “sister-powered duo” of Cassandra and Nicole, co-owners and travel curators in Belmont, North Carolina. Cassandra took her first travel-agent class at nineteen. Nicole found the trade through a travel-agent course more than twenty years ago; after a career in mental health, she returned to planning trips for couples and for groups. The sisters promise “luxury, laughs” and that “main character” feeling minus the stress, and Cassandra has gone further, founding “This Vacation Has Curves,” a body-positive travel movement for curvy girls and the people who love them.
An agency named for two chicks was always going to reach our bench, and the name turned out to be the smaller half of the invitation. The lockup they publish is a developed piece of drawing. Two thin opposing arcs, turquoise shading to white, hold a horizontal circle open around the wordmark, with slim rules running out to either side. Beneath the bold capitals of TWO CHICKS, the word TRAVEL sits small and white on a black field. Strip that field and the white letters vanish, so we kept the dark ground exactly as they publish it. We sat with the arcs a while before we understood them; they curve toward each other and stop just short of touching, which reads fairly as two sisters holding one circle open between them.

Pressed lengthwise
Pale sea-blue follows the turquoise that carries the whole identity, and vivid fuchsia answers the bright, women-led playfulness of the live site. Black with gold foil rounds out the set, and there the mark comes home to the ground it was drawn on.
The Suitcase Nest
The companion pressing draws what the name kept suggesting. A vintage hard-shell case sits open, its lid swung up and back so it rises like the back wall of a nest, and two plump chicks peek side by side over the front rim. The larger looks straight ahead; the smaller tilts toward it, beak open as if mid-laugh, which felt honest to the “luxury, laughs” the sisters promise. Beneath the case runs their own “Relax-Create-Refresh,” set here as plain capitals on one line.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
