Vacations Booked × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Vacations Booked is a boutique luxury travel agency in Franklin, Tennessee. Rachel Lackey founded it more than a decade ago, and its About page now counts eight advisors working across North America. The site lays out the work as a promise kept in stages, from “We Plan” through “We Problem Solve” to “We Follow Up” – someone stays on the line while you are away. And when clients come home, the homepage says, they bring back “the best stories to tell.”
The name did half our work before we opened a sketchbook. Booked is past tense, the sound of a stamp already down on the page, and the header mark plays along: a wide sage-green VB in high serif capitals, with a small four-point star standing guard at each side. A word that sounds like a stamp deserves to become one, so we made it one.
The mark, as found

Pressed
Forest green answers the sage of the live monogram, while gray-sand picks up the quiet cream ground the site sets it on. Black carries the gold, as it always does.

The booked stamp
The companion leans into the pun the name has been making for over a decade. A passport stamp, VACATIONS on the upper line and BOOKED on the lower, set at a slight tilt. We tried it square first and it read like a shipping label; the tilt is what an actual wrist does at a border desk, and it turned the mark into a souvenir of arrival.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
