Three luggage-tag studies for Waltz Vineyards

An August study.
Two dancers turn, a barrel waits, and a basket reaches the row’s end
Waltz Vineyards Estate Winery presents an estate-grown Pennsylvania wine experience spanning vineyard, tasting, wine club, events, and hospitality. The public site pairs the agricultural landscape with a composed invitation to visit, taste, gather, and take something of the place home.
Its current identity centers a wine-red circular seal with a flowing script W, a fine gold rim, cream grounds, dark type, and vineyard greens. The site adds long rows, seasonal branches, and restrained serif typography. These independent studies do not reproduce the seal, script letter, wordmark, grape cluster, or bottle label. Instead, the script’s turning gesture becomes a dancing couple, the circular rim becomes a wooden barrel head, and the vineyard rows lead toward a picnic basket.
As leather luggage tags, the ideas could be considered for approved wine-club milestones, event hosts, wedding or corporate guests, hospitality partners, harvest teams, distributors, or seasonal appreciation. Each mark begins with an experience people already understand: a dance, a cellar object, and a shared outing among the vines.
Leather and treatment
Deep wine red, dark vineyard olive, and natural tan leather create an autumnal estate family. Blind impressions feel quiet and cellar-made; a restrained antique-gold treatment on tan recalls the seal rim without reproducing it.
The three concepts
1. Two Dancers, One Stroke
A couple turns in a waltz above one long curling floor line. The scene reads immediately as dance and celebration, while the continuous flourish borrows the motion and confidence of the current script mark without drawing its letter.
2. The Barrel Head
A round barrel end is built from vertical staves and two sturdy hoops, with a small curling tendril rising from the bung. The cellar object is direct; its rim-and-center structure transforms the circular seal into working winery material.
3. Basket at the Row’s End
A handled picnic basket rests where converging vineyard rows meet the horizon. It is a plain invitation to gather and share, while the long perspective lines grow from the estate imagery used across the public site.
