Wanderlust Travel Group × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Wanderlust Travel Group is Tiffany Raymond's boutique travel agency in Denville, New Jersey, planning trips for Morris County and for anyone willing to drive a little. Her wandering started with a study-abroad term in Australia, and the habit never let go; the Caribbean and Europe followed, then the U.S. National Parks and so on, until traveling with her own family showed her what a well-planned journey does for the people inside it. The site keeps a dictionary entry where most agencies would hang a slogan: “Wanderlust: n. A strong desire for or impulse to wander or travel and explore the world.” We have a soft spot for a business that defines its terms before asking for your trust.
The mark is why we pressed it. A warm-gold compass ring, drawn open on purpose, throws short rays like a low sun, and a muted deep-green airplane climbs up-right through the gap. Slim gold capitals spell WANDERLUST beside it, with TRAVEL GROUP letterspaced small underneath. We hesitated over that open ring, frankly; an unclosed circle can read as a flaw in blind emboss. At stamping depth the rays settle the question, and the airplane leaving the frame turns out to be the whole idea.

Pressed lengthwise
Deep forest green takes after the muted green of the airplane and the lower wordmark, while honeyed russet answers the warm gold of the compass ring and the WANDERLUST capitals. Black carries the gold foil, as it always does here.
The Denville Signpost
A sturdy round-topped post on a single ground line, carrying two arrow boards. The upper points left and reads DENVILLE; just below, a slightly longer board aims the other way and says BEYOND. Two arrowheads pointing apart carry the whole joke – one small town, and everything else – which is more or less the route Tiffany has been drawing for her clients since Australia.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
