We Travel Luxe × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.

A July study.

We Travel Luxe describes itself as “an intimate agency with exclusive connections across the globe with the ability to deliver experiential travel, adventures, and unforgettable moments.” Our records place the agency in Brentwood, Tennessee, and the site’s standing invitation reads “Schedule a Consult with Emily Webber.” Intimate is the load-bearing word; the pledge keeps that scale: “Every step of your journey is customized to your exact wishes and needs.”

The line we kept rereading belongs to Megan, one of their advisors. “After spending nine years in the tech industry, she followed her passion for travel and turned her love of planning into a career as a luxury travel advisor.” Anyone who has lived nine years of sprint calendars knows exactly whom the agency means when it says it serves “adventurers who don’t have the time to plan an in-depth experiential travel journey.” Then there is the mark. A teal script We leans over a broad blush serif TRAVEL, with LUXE set small in teal beneath, two temperatures sharing one lockup. Script and serif ask for different pressures under the same die, and we went in unsure whether the blush would keep its warmth once it left the screen for grain. It mostly does, though on the sea-blue tag we would still argue about it.

Soft blush and pale sea-blue took the lockup first, the pair the site’s own palette proposes. Black with gold foil is the automatic third.

Plane o’clock

For the companion we drew a pocket watch that has given up on hours. One bold dial fills most of the tag, crown and ring loop riding at twelve. Plain ticks mark the rim, the cardinal four cut slightly longer. Where the hands should sit, a small plane points toward two o’clock, and a dashed arc sweeps up from seven to catch its tail – an hour hand mid-flight. Beneath the dial, NO TIME TO PLAN, and under that, smaller, WE TRAVEL LUXE. Their own sentence about time-poor adventurers, set into a face you can read at the carousel.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
