Wish List Travel × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study

A July study.
Wish List Travel is Paul Graham's agency in Elkins, Arkansas, founded in 2018 after more than two decades of helping people plan journeys. Paul is a Certified Travel Advisor with a lifelong love of history and culture, and the agency he built plans cruises and honeymoons, group tours and custom vacations. He is also a Certified Autism Travel Professional, which means families who travel with more to think about have someone who has already thought it through. His promise to clients is exact: they know who to call “from the first quote to the final return flight.”
The mark is what drew us in. A wish list is a fragile genre of document, prone to staying a list forever. Theirs shows one item already checked, which is quietly the whole argument for hiring a travel advisor. We wanted to see whether that little lime check would keep its optimism under a steel die.

Pressed lengthwise
Pale sea-blue follows the cyan of the wordmark, and deep forest green gives the lime checklist a darker, older voice. Black with gold foil rounds out the set. The list lines are fine at this scale and we half expected them to close up in the press; in the renders they hold.
Contrail Check
For the companion we let the check mark leave the page and take the flight. One oversized check drawn as an airplane's contrail, in bold even dashes, with a small solid plane at the tip still climbing along the stroke it has just finished. Beneath it, WISH LIST TRAVEL in plain capitals. A wish gets checked off by going, and the mark now says so.
We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
