Your Wish Travel Co. × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of stamping studies on real-world marks.
A July study.
Your Wish Travel Co. is a boutique charter practice in Trumbull, Connecticut, arranging private yacht charters and private-island retreats through a network of vetted partners worldwide. Every detail of a charter belongs to them, from the first pre-travel note through the day of docking; the aftercare is theirs as well. The current book runs from intimate charters to larger events afloat, on routes that reach from the Caribbean all the way to Antarctica.
What put them in the log is the wordmark. your wish, set lowercase in a high-contrast serif, with a small crescent flourish hung beneath the opening y like a new moon; below it, widely tracked capitals read “CHARTERS & VILLAS”. People have addressed wishes to the night sky since long before anyone wrote them down, and a firm that takes the wish as its name and then slips a moon under the first letter has thought about where wishes go. That is the kind of small decision this series exists to press.
The mark, as found

Pressed lengthwise
We pressed the full mark lengthwise on the two leathers their own pages suggested, a pale gray-sand that sits close to the editorial tone of the wordmark and a blush that answers the villa-and-celebration side of the practice. Black carries it in gold. Our worry was the subtitle; widely tracked capitals can silt up at tag scale, so the press goes deep enough that “CHARTERS & VILLAS” stays legible while the serif above keeps the louder voice.

The crescent casts off
For the companion we let the flourish leave the letter. The crescent under the y puts up a sail and becomes a small boat, bow set toward a single wishing star, with YOUR WISH running the length of the tag. We went back and forth on that star, wondering whether it was one flourish too many, and kept it in the end; a boat wants something to steer by.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
