In So Many Words – a leather gift collection of the things we say to each other
Volume I-D: Gift-Fit Independent Study.
A September study.
In So Many Words is a small leather collection of the sentences we say to the people we know well. Five phrases, five objects, each one pressed where its person will find it.
First, we packed a suitcase with travel stickers and drew every sticker as an empty speech bubble – the stories it has yet to collect – between COME BACK above and WITH STORIES below. A send-off for the graduate, or for the friend finally taking the big trip.
The black tag carries the words in gold.

Next, we set SAW THIS AND THOUGHT OF YOU in stacked capitals and aimed a printer's pointing hand straight at YOU. It is the sentence the whole gift stands on, and the keychain repeats it every time the keys are picked up.

Then, a twin-bell alarm clock stopped at five past the hour, and beneath it the morning's oldest negotiation – FIVE MORE MINUTES. We stamped it small in the corner of a honeyed russet kit over deep espresso brown, where the private routine lives.

After that, the tray. We put the day's pocket cargo in orbit – house key and car key, coin and folded glasses – around the words YOU MADE IT HOME. Every evening the objects land inside the ring and the sentence comes true.
It looks genuinely beautiful on the golden tan leather.

And finally, the old trick and the better one. We tied a string around a raised finger and set a single line beneath it – OR WRITE IT DOWN – for everyone who swears they will remember. In deep wine and in pale greige.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
