Kept Close × Leatherius Woodman – a leather gift collection of everyday keepsakes
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of leather stamping studies.
A September study – Volume I-D.
Kept Close is a small collection about the things people carry every day, and about the habits a good gift can recognize. Five designs, each one made so a giver can look at a shelf and say – this is you.
First, a keychain for the one who is always the last one out. We hung a single key on its nail above the words LAST ONE OUT – the person every household and every crew quietly relies on to lock the door behind them.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

Next, the luggage tags. We tied a drawn string into a bow around the words IF LOST, DEARLY MISSED – a tag that finally admits what luggage tags are for. The black tag carries the words in gold.

Then, the catchall tray. THE DAY ENDS HERE stands in the middle, and around it we set a ring of pocket things coming in to land, the way keys and coins find the same spot on the dresser every night.

Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the golden tan leather.

Then, for the toiletry bags, a swallow over GO AND COME BACK. Swallows cross half the world and still return to the nest they built – which is the entire wish of anyone packing a bag for someone they love. The stack is honeyed russet over deep espresso brown.

And finally, the one we liked the most. A journal for the cook who never quite obeys: a heaped spoon between A PINCH MORE and THAN IT SAYS, because every recipe worth keeping got improved without permission.

It looks genuinely beautiful.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
