Little Occasions – a leather collection for the year's small celebrations
From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of leather stamping studies.
A September study – Volume I-B.
Little Occasions is an original collection for the small celebrations – the last day of school, the Tuesday that earned a cake. Five designs pressed into leather, gifts that keep working long after the frosting is gone.
First, a send-off. We hung a small bunch of balloons above the words OFF SHE GOES, so the suitcase says what everyone in the driveway is thinking. The black tag carries the gold.

Next, the pun that was always going to happen. We set A KEEPER above an old skeleton key and let the key do the work of the underline – a keychain for the person who is one. The black fob carries the gold.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

Then, a journal for whoever holds the calendar together. We ruled the cover like a list and checked every box in advance – THE TA DA LIST, where things get written down after they go well. It comes in pale rose and in pale sea-blue.

After that, something for the first trip taken alone. We stamped OVERNIGHT SUCCESS on the toiletry kit and set a crescent moon to stand watch above the claim – caramel riding on dark espresso.

And finally, the tray. Around the rim we drew the small cargo that lands there at day's end, and in the middle set the invitation: PUT IT ALL DOWN. It means the keys, and it also means the week.

It looks genuinely beautiful.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
