One More Chapter – a leather collection for readers and writers
One More Chapter – Volume I-C. A September study.
A small leather collection about the habit that builds a reading life: going on. Every design here was made for people who read past their bedtime and write before they feel ready.
First, the namesake. We drew a closed book with its ribbon bookmark tucked in almost at the back cover, and set the reader's oldest promise beneath it – ONE MORE CHAPTER.
The black tag carries the promise in gold, the way a well-bound spine carries its title. Sangria and forest green take a blind deboss.
The same promise rides the toiletry bags, caramel over dark espresso, for the reading that happens far from your own lamp.
Next, one for the journals. WORKING COPY, set in a double-ruled oval like a manuscript stamp – a journal is the one book that is allowed to stay unfinished.
On gray sand it reads like ink on manuscript paper. On sangria it turns senior – a draft bound in wine-dark leather.
Then the keychains. We borrowed the manicule, the small pointing hand old printers set in the margins when the next line mattered, and gave it two words – READ ON.
On the black fob the hand points in gold. The blueberry fob takes a blind deboss, deep navy like the quiet end of a shelf.
And finally, the catchall tray. A page with a wide margin and one asterisk keyed to a line – IN THE MARGINS – because the tray is where the day leaves its small annotations. It looks genuinely beautiful pressed into the golden tan.
P.S. The curator kept the other safe individual render attempts from this study so the differences in pressure, placement and surface response remain visible.
