One More Chapter – a leather collection for readers – Volume I-D

A September study – Volume I-D.
One More Chapter is a small collection for readers – the people who make that promise after midnight and keep it. We pressed five original stamps into leather for them, from journals and luggage tags down to the tray where the book lands at night.
First, the design the collection is named for. We hung the promise from a lamp's beaded pull chain, caught mid-swing, the last thing a reader touches before lights out – and set it on the keychain fob, so it leaves the house with the keys. We pressed it into a deep wine sangria and a classic caramel.
Looks great when stamped onto the leather.
Next, the catchall tray. We laid an open book face down on a single rule – the nightstand gesture every reader knows – and wrote SAVE MY PLACE beneath it. Keys and glasses land in the tray at the end of the day; now the page is kept there too, in golden tan arizona.
Then the luggage tags. We looked straight down into a packed suitcase – spines up, one rolled shirt squeezed into the corner – under the words THE BOOKS GO IN FIRST, which is simply the true order of operations. The tags come in caramel and in forest green.
The black tag carries the design in gold.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.
For the toiletry bag, a small confession in the corner: folded reading glasses resting on a closed book, STILL READING underneath. The kit travels wherever the reader does, and so does the habit – here on a caramel and sicilian brown stack.
And finally, the one we liked the most. A journal is the one book its owner writes, so we gave it a bookplate – EX LIBRIS over a flowering sprig and an empty rule with a diamond at each end. The giver hands it over blank; the recipient signs it into their library. In deep wine sangria and in forest green.
It looks genuinely beautiful.
