Queen City of the Mountains – a Gainesville, Georgia leather collection

A September 2026 study – Volume I-D.
Queen City of the Mountains is a small leather collection rooted in Gainesville, Georgia – in the pond lilies and low footbridge of its woodland garden, and in the royal nickname the town has carried since its resort days. Luggage tags and journals, keychains and a tray, each pressed from an original die.
First, the piece that gives the collection its name. We bent a mountain ridgeline into a crown and set it afloat on the lake's water lines – one small star above the middle peak for the jewel.
On the black fob the crown goes down in gold; on forest green it presses blind into the leather.
Next, we drew the low plank footbridge where the path crosses the rocky stream, and wrote MEET ME AT THE BRIDGE beneath it. The scene runs the full length of the luggage tag.
Looks great when stamped onto the leather.
Then the pond. We set one star-petaled lily above its notched pad and a ring of ripples, with FOREST POND beneath – a corner stamp for the journals, where the garden notes go.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather – the pale sea-blue journal most of all.
The same stamp rides the lower corner of the toiletry bag, navy over chestnut.
And finally, the one we liked the most. The broad path curves away between the trunks, past the cone-shaped hydrangea blooms, and THE LONG WAY HOME arcs beneath – pressed at the center of the golden tan tray that catches the keys at the end of the day.
