Small Ceremonies – an original leather collection for the day's small rituals, Volume II

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of leather stamping studies.

A September study – Volume II.

Small Ceremonies – a leather collection for the rituals an ordinary day already keeps without naming them, from the send-off at the door to the pockets emptied at night. Five original stamps, pressed across everything from a luggage tag to a catchall tray.

First, the send-off. We set a paper plane climbing off the pages of an open book and wrote COME BACK WITH STORIES beneath the flight – the one souvenir everybody actually wants.

It runs lengthwise along the luggage tags, once in warm caramel and once in pale sea-blue. Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

The black tag carries the design in gold foil, gilt like the edge of a good storybook.

Next, the toast. Two glasses meet inside a ring that reads TO THE GOOD DAYS – the congratulation that fits every occasion, sized for a pocket.

On the keychains it turned out just awesome – one in deep wine, one in pale greige as dry as good champagne.

Then, the morning at the basin. A shaving mirror on its little stand holds the day's first sun, and BEST FACE FORWARD stands beneath – the kit takes your side before the mirror does.

We pressed it small into the lower corner of the toiletry bags, warm tan over chestnut.

After that, the evening amnesty. We turned a pocket inside out above EMPTY YOUR POCKETS and caught its daily cargo mid-fall – the tray finally gets to give the order it has always been carrying out.

Pressed at generous size into the golden tan tray, it looks genuinely beautiful.

And finally, the last entry of the night. A half-risen sun stands over DEAR TOMORROW, because a journal is a letter written the evening before it is read.

One journal in deep navy for the night that writes, one in dusty rose for the morning that reads.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
