Small Signs – a leather collection for the gift that needs no occasion
Volume I-C – an original collection from the Practice Log.
A September study.
Small Signs is a collection for the gift that needs no occasion – five short phrases, each married to one small picture, pressed into leather that stays useful long after the wrapping paper is gone.
First, we tied a short string into a bow and set THOUGHT OF YOU beneath it. A bow wraps a present, and a string tied in a loop is the oldest reminder there is – here it does both jobs at once.

The black tag carries the bow in gold; the gray sand and caramel tags take a blind deboss.
It looks genuinely beautiful.

Next, a page from a wall calendar with every square left empty, and JUST BECAUSE underneath. Some gifts skip the date.

Looks great when stamped onto the leather – here on sicilian brown and on pale sea-blue.

Then the toiletry bags – a bar of soap making a run for it, bubbles still rising in its wake, over CLEAN GETAWAY. The stack is caramel over dark espresso.

For the journals we drew a pencil worn down to its stub above KEEP GOING. The encouragement is earned – a pencil only gets that short by writing.

And finally, the catchall tray. A long key at rest under a thin crescent moon, with HOME FOR THE NIGHT beneath – the tray by the door is where the day's pockets get emptied, and where everything waits for morning.
Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
