Tell It Again × Leatherius Woodman – a leather stamping study in stories worth repeating

From the Practice Log – an ongoing series of leather stamping studies.

A September study – Shops Waterfall, Volume II.

Tell It Again – a small collection about the things a family repeats on purpose. A story earns its place by being told one more time; a tune, by being played until the youngest hands can carry it.

First, the two chairs. We set a tall ladder-back and a small child's chair facing each other, with TELL IT AGAIN beneath – the whole design is the space between them, because that is where the story happens.

Looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather – warm tan for the kitchen table, deep brown for the coffee that keeps the telling going.

The same two chairs press at a generous size into the base of the golden tan catchall tray, so whatever lands there at the end of the day lands between them.

On the toiletry bags – honeyed russet over chestnut – the chairs sit small in the corner, blind debossed. A gift for the one who tells it best.

Next, the fiddle. The old tunes moved from player to player by sound alone, so under the fiddle we set LEARNED BY EAR. A luggage tag is the right place for it – what you take with you when you leave is what you learned at home.

The black tag takes the gold pass, and the foil gives the fiddle its varnish back.

The chestnut and deep green tags carry it as a blind deboss. Looks great when stamped onto the leather.

And finally, the dance. We cut a ring of dancers the way a folded paper chain cuts them – grown-ups and children joined hand to hand – around the call that starts it all: ALL JOIN HANDS.

The keychains came out just awesome – one in warm red, one in deep wine.

We made this out of love. Leatherius Woodman is on a mission to create and share artifacts of beauty, craft and love – this study is one of them, and we hope the feeling is mutual. Every image is a render – how we prototype before cutting a die.
