The Good Parts – a leather collection for memory keepers

The Good Parts – a small leather collection. A September study, Volume I-C.

This collection is for people who keep things – the ones who decide which ordinary day earns a page. We borrowed the working marks of that craft and let leather carry them.

First, a ticket stub for the luggage tags, pressed the long way along the tag. THIS WILL MAKE A GOOD STORY sits inside the border, with ADMIT ONE on the tear-off end – the sentence a keeper of pages says mid-trip, already planning the layout.

Next, KEEPER – one word mounted under four photo corners, the way a print is fixed to the page once it has earned its place. A keychain keeps the keys; whoever carries it keeps everything else.

The true black fob carries the word in gold; the warm red one takes a blind press.

Then the catchall tray, where the day empties its pockets. We set SORT IT OUT TOMORROW at the center and scattered the usual suspects around it – a button here, a stray paperclip there.

It looks genuinely beautiful on the golden tan.

Then a compact maker's badge for the toiletry bags – a stamper's registration cross ringed with EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE, pressed low in the corner of both bags, warm tan over deep brown.

And finally, the one we liked the most. Four crop marks, and inside them KEEP THE GOOD PARTS – the whole craft in four words. A journal is where the keeping starts, so the journals carry it, in warm tan and in deep green.

It looks absolutely gorgeous when stamped onto the leather.
